My Version of the Rule Book of Standard Go-Stop

Example: Player Card

The objective of the game is to gather more points than others by collecting cards using the initial hand of cards given to each player.

Component:
·         48 player cards
·         6 reserve cards
·         3 player tokens
·         6 Additional point cards

The Player Cards.
There are two types of information on each player card: Number and value
·         Numbers (1~12) : the number of a card is used to match the card with other cards with the same number
·         Value (A, B, C, D): the value of a card indicate how many points will be given for collecting that card.

Initial Set up for a 2 player game
1.      Use the game of “Rock-Paper-Scissors” to determine the dealer.
2.      The dealer is given the deck which the dealer shuffles.
3.      The dealer gives 10 cards to each player from the deck.
4.      The dealer places 8 cards in a row face up on the table from the deck . This is the “row”.
5.      Place the remaining card deck face down next to the “row”.
6.      Distribute the player tokens

Initial Set up for a 3 player game
1.      Use the game of “Rock-Paper-Scissors” to determine the dealer.
2.      The dealer is given the deck which the dealer shuffles.
3.      The sequence of the game starts with the first player and continues counter clockwise.
4.      The dealer gives 7 cards to each player from the deck in a counter clockwise direction.
5.      The dealer places 6 cards in a row face up on the table from the deck . This is the “row”.
6.      Place the remaining card deck face down to the “row”.
7.      Distribute the player tokens

Immediate end conditions
·         When a player has a starting hand of four cards with the same number, the player automatically wins. Points are calculated using the cards in each player’s hand.
·         If there are 4 cards with the same number in the “row”, reset the game.

Basic Turn sequence
1.      Starting with the dealer, a player has to add a card from the player’s hand to the “row“ on the table. This card is the “played card”.
·         The cards are “matching” when the row includes a card with the same number as the “played card”.

2.      If there is a “matching card” in the “row”, place the “played card” below the matching card in the “row”. This creates a 2 card “column”.
·         If there is more than one matching card in the “row”, place the “played card” below the matching card the player wants to collect.

3.      Take a card from the remaining card deck. This is the “removed card”. Add the “removed card” to the “row” in the same manner as the “played card”.
·         If the “removed card” has the same number as the “played card” currently in a 2 card column, add the removed card below the “played card”. This creates a 3 card column. Place your player token on the column.

4.      Take all 2 card “columns” from the “row”. A 3 card column cannot be taken.
5.      All cards taken from the “row” should be placed in front of the player in rows shorted by the values. These cards are in “storage” and cannot be used in play anymore.

6.      The player speaks out how many cards of each value one has and also states one’s current accumulated points
·         If the player has points equal or more to the threshold points, the player can either choose to “go on” with or “stop” the game.
                                                                          i.      2 player game: 7 threshold points
ii.      3 player game: 3 threshold points

·         When a player chooses to “go on” the game for the first and second time, the player takes an Additional point cards.
·         Whenever a player chooses to “go on” with the game for the third time and beyond, the player takes a reserve card.

7.      It is the turn for the next player in counter clockwise direction to the current player.
